Airframe
I decided to keep thing simple. The airframe is a basic three fin
design. I will use a anti-zipper design that I have had good luck with.
The rocket will separate in the middle. A coupler with a bulkhead will
be glued to the lower section. Two U-bolts will be mounted on the
bulkhead forming the attachment point for the shock cord and the
parachute. The parachute will be housed in the middle section. Above
the parachute will be a payload section and the nose cone. The opposite
end of the shock cord will be attached to the payload section by two
u-bolts. The middle section will be attached to the payload section by
screws. My electronics will be housed in the payload section. I will
attach the fins to the motor mount and centering rings though slots in
the body tube.
Recovery
Recovery will be apogee deployment of
a Rocketman R14. I plan on using a Perfectflite recording altimeter
with a magnetic apogee detector as a backup.
